LOOKING FOR A QUIET TYPE HOME: Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 15 lbs. Hi, I’m Janet! I came from a situation where there were just too many dogs in the home, and we needed help. Thankfully, Mostly Mutts was able to answer the call and now I’m in a great foster home getting lots of attention and learning all about being a great dog in a great home environment! I’m ready to find my new home now and start living the good life with a family of my own. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I came in with other dogs and liked the dogs I met at Mostly Mutts too. I also like the dog in my foster home who is close to my size. When I’m out for a walk with my foster and I see other dogs, I’ll bark and bark at them and it’s not entirely clear if I want to play with them or not, so let’s meet with a proper introduction! Mostly Mutts and my foster feel that it’s best I have another playful and friendly dog in my new home to pal around with as I love doing that! / I am kind of in love with the kitty in my foster home and I try very hard to get her to play with me, so if you have a kitty that likes playing with dogs, let’s meet! / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts or in my foster home, but I am still a bit skittish, so if you have older calmer and gentle kids, let’s meet. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: In my foster home, I’m very happy and I enjoy scratches and belly rubs as well as napping. I’m still a little bit skittish but very sweet. I’m looking for a patient family that understands my background and that I likely didn’t get training or individual attention, so I have a lot to learn. I’m a bit hesitant with people and I should not be left unsupervised at home because I have some interest in things that aren’t mine. I like to move things around which is quite adorable, but I do need to learn what’s mine and what is not mine. An apartment/condo type home would not be a good fit for me due to the close quarters and all the people I’d have to come in contact with. / My energy level is 4-6 generally, but I do like going for walks so it can be 5 – 7 at times. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I don’t know any commands yet, and I’m not food/treat motivated, but I’m sure in time you can teach me some. In the meantime, my foster is working on helping me come to her on my own and my leash training. I love walks (I’ve walked up to 2 miles at a time) but at times I’ll get a little stuck or want to pull and squirm, so a properly fitted leash and harness is a must! My foster is great at knowing just what to do when this happens, and she’ll be happy to go over it with you. / I’ve improved so much with my crate training – though I use a playpen type enclosure instead of a crate in my foster home. When my foster needs to leave the home, I’ll almost always go into my playpen by myself. I’m no longer crated at nighttime, but I get to be in the bedroom with my foster and the other dog and cat and I like that. / I’m doing really well with my potty manners on a good schedule, so keep me on a good schedule and I think I’ll do well in my new home too. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I like walks on quieter streets, roaming in the yard with the other dog, scratches and belly rubs and I can entertain myself with toys by relocating them and tossing them in the air – so fun. / I don’t like loud noises, machines, etc. but I’m improving daily and am less jumpy at sudden movements. I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. If you’re a patient family that will give me the extra time that I need to feel safe and at home, we could be a good match! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
