Sweet Greta, who had been named at the shelter but wasn't really into her name, loves her new name, Kalie, given by her foster family. At 15 weeks old, she's a spunky yet gentle little girl. Thanks to the diligent efforts of the shelter staff, Kalie survived parvo but had a rough time getting her appetite going. She arrived in our care at 10 weeks, weighing only 10 lbs; she is now eating robustly, favoring lamb kibble, and has gained much-needed weight. At the recent vet exam for her boosters, Kalie weighed 27 lbs, which is excellent for her size. It took the diligent effort of her foster family to find food with a taste she liked and boost her appetite with sprinkles of cheese and eggs, including Entyce, a prescription appetite stimulant, to encourage her to eat her full meals while her appetite fully recovered from her parvo experience. Kalie is an experienced traveler in the car and on planes as she caught a Pilots and Paws flight to her foster home in sunny San Jose, where she lived with two friendly shepherds. This adventurous little girl is curious and brave as she explores new environments, proudly displaying her forever-wagging tail and gentle temperament. She is a true people-lover, eager to join any activity and always ready for cuddles. Kalie also gravitates to kids; she'd love to live with kids or have regular interactions with them. With Kalie's foster family traveling for the next week and a half on a pre-planned trip, Kalie moved to another experienced shepherd foster home, where she's living with a male shepherd who allows snuggles. Kalie's potty training is dialed in, and she's already mastered crate training. She sleeps soundly through the night and enjoys cozy daytime naps to recharge for her next growth spurt. Kalie is respectful and playful with her two resident shepherds in her foster home, relishing every moment spent playing with and following her humans around the house. She was equally lovely in her temporary foster home with three resident shepherds between the shelter and catching a flight to San Jose. Kalie loves car rides, settling comfortably into the seat to ride shotgun or on a lap if available. When her person exits the car, she's curious, peering out the window with her paws on the door to see what's happening. Kalie has been teething as a bit of an ankle-biter, so she appreciates collagen sticks, Spunky Pup antlers, and squeaky small toys that fit in her mouth to ease the discomfort. Kalie also understands pool boundaries after falling in and swimming out a few times. One of her cute quirks? Kalie loves to steal slippers and claim them as her little treasures in her crate! If you're looking for a loving companion who brings joy and warmth to your home, Kalie is ready to charm her way into your heart. Meet this playful pup and see if you can handle her infectious spirit and sweetness! Please consider adopting Kalie only if you have the time and commitment to raise a young shepherd puppy into a well-rounded adult dog. Investing in training will also be beneficial. Experienced shepherd or similar working/herding dog experience will be conducive to becoming a forever match for Kalie.Have you visited our YouTube channel?
