Hatch Date: Approx 2017 Kimchi is a sweet and social 7-year-old Male Cockatiel currently in  foster care and is looking for his forever home. When Kimchi first arrived, he wasn’t comfortable in his cage and wasn’t cage-trained.  What that means is he was never confined in the cage at any time,  and mostly had free range in his original home. With patience and positive reinforcement, he has made excellent progress. He now accepts his cage and sleeps in it peacefully at night.   Kimchi is a cheerful, interactive little bird who loves to whistle and explore his surroundings.  One of his favorite pastimes is sitting on your shoulder and hanging out. He genuinely enjoys the company of people.  If you’re snacking on Tostitos, be prepared—Kimchi will come after them!  He’s got a curious and playful nature that makes him a joy to be around.   He’s a very sociable bird and thrives on attention and interaction.  He would do best in a home where he’s included in daily life and  allowed to spend time out of his cage,  especially on your shoulder, where he feels most at home.   Kimchi is seeking a home that understands the needs of cockatiels  and can provide ongoing structure, affection, and enrichment.  He’s come a long way already and is ready to blossom even more with the right family. Kimchi has been disease tested for Chlamydia and PBFD.        Kimchi is being fostered in Bethlehem, PA.    He will only be adopted into a forever home within driving distance.   We will NOT ship our birds. For the Love of Birds is a group of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA.  We do not have a central location. Kimchi is living in a volunteer’s private home, so we will only allow approved applicants to make visits.  If you are interested in Kimchi, please visit our website  ftlob.rescuegroups.org.  Please read our adoption policies & procedures, and complete an adoption application.
