Some children brought him home, but couldn't keep him, leading to his arrival at the rescue. Koa is an energetic, playful puppy eagerly searching for his forever family to shower with love and affection! This cuddly bundle of joy has a knack for making eye contact, which makes training him a breeze. Koa adores kids as young as six, though his playful nature might be too much for toddlers and smaller children. He loves snuggling up in bed with his six-year-old foster human, curling up as close as he can for maximum cuddles. While he may whimper a bit initially when kenneled, he soon settles down. Koa has a passion for sticks, turning every discovery into an exciting adventure. He’s working on overcoming his fear of cats, initially barking and hiding but gradually peeking out to see if they’ll approach him. Though he hasn’t yet mustered the courage to sniff one, he’s making progress. Toys are a big hit with Koa—chewy, squeaky, or anything toy-like, he loves them all. He barks occasionally to grab your attention during playtime and has mastered the command "Koa, come." When playtime or cuddles are over, he responds well to the release word "okay." His eye contact is impressive, and his soft, fluffy fur adds to his charm.  Click here to see how smart he is-already knows how to sit! Koa’s playful antics with sticks are a sight to behold. He’ll pounce on them as if they’ll play back and will drag a large stick around until he tires.  Click here to see a video of him playing. If you walk away without him, he’ll cock his head and look at you quizzically. He enjoys car rides, especially with a good chew toy, and alternates between gazing out the window and playing with his toy. His adorable yawns come with a little squeak that’s sure to melt your heart. Koa is from a local owner surrender.
