    They call me Kuro, but I prefer ‘Your Majesty.’ I think I’m better than you and you should be grateful when I allow you to touch my silky long fur. I’m just a kitten and you might describe me as shy, but I’m actually just very smart and judgmental. Once I get to know you, I’ll allow you to scratch my head, cheeks, and neck, but only when I’m laying down for a nap and in a good mood. Otherwise, I prefer the company of other cats. My foster-sister and I enjoy chasing each other, wrestling, sharing toys, and snuggling for naps. I also admire the handsome older boy cats that I’m currently living with. So clearly, I think cats are better companions than humans. But I tolerate people as they are necessary to clean my home and prepare my food. I’m growing to trust the woman who currently cares for me, but I really don’t like it when she tries to pick me up or touch me without permission. Sigh, so annoying…. but I’m a lady and I patiently wait for her to put me down so I can run out of her reach again. My dream home would have another cat for me to socialize with, or one that would adopt me and my foster-sister together. My foster-sister, Brea, loves people and lets them pet her and pick her up whenever they want, which is honestly shocking to me. But everyone is different, I guess…. I much prefer to be admired at a safe distance. I know I’m gorgeous and am going to just get prettier and prettier as I get older. I have long, velvety fur, brilliant hazel eyes, and adorable little white sock paws. So I really can’t blame the humans for always wanting to fawn over me – I’m quite stunning! I suppose it’s possible, with time, that I might eventually allow more offerings of affection from my human subjects. I am, after all, a very gracious queen and not an unreasonable tyrant.
