To ensure Lace finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Lace | 5-6 Month-Old Husky Mix | Brains, Beauty & Boundless Energy Meet Lace, a striking black-and-white Husky pup who’s as smart, curious, and spirited as they come. At just 5-6 months old and about 35 pounds, she’s already showing all the classic traits of a true adventure companion—high energy, sharp instincts, and a whole lot of personality. Lace is well on her way to being house-trained. With a consistent routine, she quickly learned to follow the resident dogs outside for potty breaks, though she’ll still have accidents if she isn’t taken out regularly. On leash, she’s a joy—no pulling or reactivity—but she does zigzag, get startled at times, and feels most confident when walking with another steady, well-behaved dog. This girl truly thrives with canine company. She adores other dogs, learns from them, and plays beautifully—chase, gentle roughhousing, sharing toys, you name it. She’s been calm and neutral around cats so far. While she may show more curiosity as she settles in and gains confidence, her early interactions have been very promising. With kids, she’s curious and gentle, treating them just like adults. Lace seems to favor men slightly, but she’s not selective in any way that limits her placement. Crate training is still a work in progress. Lace settles quietly once she’s calm, doesn’t have accidents, and isn’t destructive—but she does bark, howl, and whine when left alone, so she isn’t a good fit for apartment living. She prefers having her own space to sleep and rests soundly through the night, especially when encouraged with a few treats to help her settle. Lace can still be a bit aloof with people and is much more motivated by the presence and guidance of other dogs. . Lace is a high-energy working-breed puppy who needs 1–2+ hours of activity every day to be her best self. Long walks, hikes, runs, backpacking—you name it, she’s up for it. If she doesn’t get her physical and mental stimulation, she’ll find ways to entertain herself, sometimes mischievously. But with structure, clear boundaries, and redirection, she responds beautifully. She loves puzzle toys, stuffed Kongs, chews, and of course, de-fluffing stuffies. She’s clever, playful, and at times downright crafty—she’ll happily play “catch me if you can,” so her foster keeps a drag leash on her to help with recall and transitions. Lace’s ideal home will have Husky or working-breed experience and be ready to provide consistent leadership, structure, and plenty of enrichment. A confident resident dog would be a huge bonus for her. This girl is an adventurer at heart—she’s built for trails, fresh air, and big days followed by cozy nights. With the right match, Lace will grow into an incredible partner for someone looking for a vibrant, athletic, loyal companion.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
