Lovely Lavender the long-haired beauty is so affectionate, it's hard to believe this sweet angel was living on the street. She's an extremely loving cat who loves petting and attention from people, which means she was likely someone's pet before being put outside to fend for herself. And she has the most adorable tuft of white hair on her chest! A perfect day for Lavender is waking up from snuggling in bed under the blankets, having her breakfast along with a romp and play, gazing out the window at the world, finding the comfiest spot for a nap and purring all day long! At night, she'll sometimes find a box to explore and play in with her favorite toys after her dinner. Lavender is super affectionate and will follow you everywhere. She's an especially sweet senior kitty who is so spunky and loving, you'd think she was a kitten! This beautiful girl is looking forward to finding a wonderful furrever home where she can cuddle with her humans, soak up lots of love and live out her life in comfort and safety. Lavender is about 9 years old and is living between small cell lymphoma and irritable bowel syndrome. Our vet says her prognosis is good, because she's responding very well to her meds! Best case scenario: she'll live several more years without an increase in her meds, which are inexpensive and easy to administer (1/4 pill crushed into her food once per day). She also eats a special food for GI issues. Lavender is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Please also note that while her long fur makes for a beautiful look, it requires additional care: daily to weekly brushings, eye cleanings, and potentially professional grooming. If you cannot commit to this additional level of maintenance, a long-haired cat is not for you (and that's OK!). If you would like to meet Lavender, please fill out our application here: https://brooklynanimalaction.org/adoption-forms/. Make sure you mention Lavender as the cat, then identify Claire as the RESCUER and fill out the form! Thank you for considering a rescued angel! Every dime goes to save another homeless kitty on the street.
