Name:   Layla        Best Guess for Breed:  Hound mix  Best Guess for Age:  5 months as of March 2026       SEX: Female   Approximate Weight:   30 lbs as of 3/27/26; she is a growing puppy!   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven’t seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home   Layla is Looking For: Her forever home! Layla and her sister River emjoyed growing up together but now they’re ready to split up and get their own homes. Layla is no longer a tiny squishy baby but she’s still a puppy and wants what puppies want – play time and exploration and cuddles. Sniffy walks, romps with pup pals, all the adventures her humans can dream up – yes, please! And dog school, so she can show how super smart she is.    Shelter staff say she is a really nice pup. She’s looking forward to loving and being loved by her humans, to being a loyal companion for all her days. Are you Layla’s happily ever after? What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once she has spent time in foster care.
