Please contact Jodi Rosenberg (jodi.rosenberg@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young girl eager for fresh start and love! LIV NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!! Name: Liv Best Guess for Breed: Border collie and lab mix Best Guess for Age: 1.5 years as of September 2025 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 30 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven’t seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Liv is Looking For: Romps in parks and world exploration by her new humans’ side! This sweetie is eager to burn off all that young-dog energy and make pup and people pals along the way. Exploring all the toys to see what she likes best – ropes for tug? Squeaky plushies to chew on? Balls for fetch? Let’s find out! And dog school, too, so she can show how super fast she learns. Most of all, though, she wants to know where her home is, to know she’s safe and loved for all her days. In exchange, she promises whacking tail wags and loyal companionship and adoring gazes. What do you say? Does that sound like a fair trade to you? What My Foster Says About Me: Volunteers who took Liv for a dog’s day out adventure said this:’We took sweet Liv for a walk and a home adventure this afternoon. She is such a happy pup! She was so visibly happily excited to go on an adventure (visualize pre-walk big smiley zoomies). After just a few practice walks she walks great on leash and continues to be friendly to adults, children, and dogs she meets. Today we spent part of the afternoon inside, in a home. She did fantastic. She was very respectful of everything. And while she loves exploring outside, she easily settled into snuggles and nap time inside. She was respectful of the home. She is good in the car, too. Liv is very smart. She is very attentive/responsive to what you ask of her! She is a quick learner eager to please. She now knows sit, paw and drop, too.’ Heartworm information: Liv is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. She has completed this activity restriction period. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
