Critter Details

Shih Tzu puppy fully vetted and ready for adoption.Get to Know Lolita Animal Saints Rescue Society was asked to help with a hoarding situation where several litters of puppies were born in quick succession. Dozens of Shih Tzu were living in a very small apartment when hobby breeding quickly became untenable. It is an honor to help get all of the adults neutered so the breeding stops, as well as ensure that the babies are placed with lifetime families.     Lolita's Details Nickname: Lollie Age: 9 months Breed: Shih Tzu birthdate: 1.12.2025 Weight: approximately 9.5 pounds. She will be approximately 10-11 pounds full grown. Vaccines and treatments:  Rabies  Bordetella  DHPP, part one and two   Other tests and procedures for the litter:  Heart worm test – negative  Erlichia, Anaplasma, and Lyme test – negative Fecal test – negative  Additional procedures:  Microchipped  Spay surgery Requested adoption donation fee is only $900. This is to partly cover her veterinary bills and care expenses that our 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue incurred to help her. Breed and Hair Notes  Lolita has hair and not fur. She is darling white Shih Tzu with hints of tan. PLEASE NOTE: Lolita's hair will grow as it is not fur. She will need professional grooming every 4-6 weeks. Only apply if you understand the additional maintenance and cost these dear hair-not-fur souls need and are willing to commit to life for such care. Lolita has been terrific for her baths, haircuts, and nail trims.  Personality Lolita is the life of the party! She is joy on four legs, always happy and always looking to play. She's a great dancer, too! She is eager to have your attention as well as your love. She hangs out with her littermate named Fiona and loves to chase and play with her. They love to nap together, too. Lolita plays well with everyone from the babies we are helping to the older Saints who are also available for adoption. As long as anyone is up for playtime, Lolita is all in with them! Ideal Home It is ideal for Lolita to be in a home with other small dogs and/or dog friendly cats around. She would not do well in a home as the only dog, especially if her people are gone all day at work. Families with children are case-by-case. Lolita will especially thrive in a home that can give her companionship day and night. She’d be okay for a few hours on her own with her siblings if you provided her with puzzles and things to do while you’re away.  Plan on sharing your sofa and bedroom with Lolita. She will want to be by your side, no matter where you are and what you are doing.  If you have a very secure fenced-in backyard for running and playing, this is ideal for Lolita. She is going to be a little girl, even full grown. She will need exercise but not miles and miles of daily hiking like a working dog. She is a companion animal in the truest sense of the word. Her goal is to love and be loved.  Love and Commitment  At Animal Saints Rescue Society, our goal is to keep dogs out of overcapacity animal control facilities and out of a re-homing cycle. We place the dogs we save into lifetime families. With this in mind, we seek families who understand that an adoption is a lifetime commitment. The families who adopt from us believe that love is not a feeling, it is a decision. Some humans still believe it’s okay to try out a dog for a few weeks, a few months, or even a few years — then discard when they get bored or don’t want to deal with emotional or physical ailments. We are looking for the empathetic, kind, and patient humans in this world who view these Animal Saints as family, and they will do whatever it takes to give them what they need.  Will that family be you? We look forward to finding out and receiving your application!
