Lucia was found living under a mobile home, skin in rough shape and wary of people. Now, with some love and care from her Texas foster home, she's coming into her own. She starts her days at 7, heading right outside to potty, then back in for breakfast before bouncing out to join her foster siblings. She can be a little protective of her food from her street days, but this is easily managed by feeding her separately. She’s warming up to a routine and enjoys her kennel time in the heat of the Texas day. Lucia loves her evening play sessions, chasing and wiggling her way around until bedtime at 8:30. She’s a small girl with a big heart, and while she might be shy at first, she shines once she’s comfortable. With slow introductions, Lucia warms up to other dogs and is soon showing her playful side. She adores affection and has a cute wiggle that makes her stand out. Lucia is ready for a home that can be patient and loving as she continues to open up and grow! **HEARTWORM STATUS PENDING**   Lucia, Lucy to her friends, is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 11/15/2024 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am – noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.  Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
