Meet Luna, the tricolor Siberian husky and German shepherd mix! This sweet girl has the most beautiful blue eyes youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ve ever seen and a personality to match! She was surrendered to us after her previous owner was no longer able to care for her. Luna is full of rambunctious energy. In her previous home she would go to the dog park and lived with some resident pups who liked to play wrestle, however it would sometimes escalate. Keeping this in mind, potential adopters should do a slow introduction and always have supervised playtime with resident dogs. Luna will need a lot of mental and physical stimulation in her home environment to help her burn off her â&#194&#128&#194&#156shepskyâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 energy and get all her wiggles out. Here at the shelter, Luna has been a bit apprehensive and has needed some time to acclimate. However, with the right home we are sure she will blossom into the joyous dog that she really is! If you are looking for a puppy pal to burn off some energy with, this girl could be for you!Luna is available for preadoptionâ&#194&#128&#194&#148come meet her, fall in love, and take her home after her spay surgery! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering â&#194&#128&#194&#156Pawsitivity Bucksâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end â&#194&#128&#194&#156meet and greetsâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
