Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Martha is the definition of a velcro dog—she’ll follow you everywhere and has lovingly appointed herself as your personal shadow. This sweet, even-tempered girl just wants to be close to her people. Whether you’re cooking dinner, working from home, or relaxing on the couch, Martha will be right there with you. She’s happiest when cuddling, napping in a sunny spot, roaming around the yard, or being the center of your world. She’s not overly interested in toys, but she lives for affection, soft places to rest, and a calm home where she can truly relax. Martha came from a breeder situation and had never lived in a house before arriving in foster care. Everything was new and a bit scary at first, but she’s come a long way. She’s learned stairs, made great progress with house training, and discovered the simple joy of lounging on the couch. She still needs a consistent routine for potty training and does best when someone is home to keep her on schedule. Martha sleeps well in a crate near her people or in a cozy, confined space. She may bark a bit when alone, so apartment living with shared walls may not be the best fit. She's not leash-trained yet and can freeze when nervous, so a fenced yard is ideal for her outdoor time. While she gets along well with dogs of all sizes and enjoys their company, her real focus is on her humans. She’s also done fine with the foster family’s cat, though she’s very curious and might do best with a dog-savvy feline. She does great with young kids and is gentle and patient with her foster family’s toddler. Martha would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time—working from home, retired, or just homebodies who enjoy a constant companion. She’s not high energy, not demanding, and perfectly content being your cuddle buddy. This girl has been through a lot and is now ready for the soft life she deserves. Martha has a gentle spirit, a big heart, and so much love to give. She’s looking for someone who will give her the comfort, consistency, and companionship she craves. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance best friend who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Martha could be the perfect match. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
