See Maverick FKA Damon aka Demon NY’s HomepageGo to our official websiteYou can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Coordinator: Carol AulickMaverick has been in treatment for ITP ( Immune Thrombocytopenia is an autoimmune bleeding disorder characterized by a dangerously low platelet count  caused by the immune system destroying platelets) since he came into rescue in September 2025 as a sweet but emaciated pup. He tolerates his prednisone treatment well and he is in remission and off steroids after 9 months of treatment  Maverick will however always have to be monitored with anticipated need for simple bloodwork to check his platelets every 6 months. He may benefit from titer testing and less vaccines in the future.  He is a good boy and a favorite of all the vet tech. This 3 year old boy is fun and active. He did great with his first foster family that had young boys with whom he could run around all day.  Most of all Maverick wants to be a normal Malinois and run after a ball all day. Mav came into rescue as an owner surrender when his young owner made bad choices and found himself homeless. Friendly. Lives with cat. Dog friendly.
