Meet Max, the Maltese mix. Max came into the Shelter with a few dog friends after their previous guardian was unable to continue caring for them. Max was primarily indoors with a few other dogs. He enjoyed sleeping in his guardianâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s bed at night with a couple of other pups. Max had a female maltese friend (who has been adopted already) who he enjoyed sharing toys with. Staff have observed that Max can be shy at first but once he warms up, he is excited to interact. He has met other dogs since his arrival at the Shelter and is curious but unsure. A home with an easy going dog and some slow, thoughtful introduction will likely set him up for success in his adoptive home. From October 24th to October 27th, join us for our Spooktacular Adoption Special! During this time, all dogs, cats, and rabbits can be adopted for a frightfully low fee of just $31!Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end â&#194&#128&#194&#156meet and greetsâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
