In the market for your very own house-hippo? Well, look no further than Meisha! Meisha is currently in foster care and thriving, and on the search for her forever home. If you're looking for a new friend to nap on the sofa with you, this is your girl! Silly noises and snoring included. Meisha has proven to be an A+ snugglebug, but does well when left alone (both crated and uncrated), and is also perfectly content doing her own thing.  Meisha has done well meeting kids and we think would do great living with a family! Her fosters describe her as, "such an easy, silly girl in the house!". When she gets excited, she loves to run and grab her favorite toy — or as many as will fit in her mouth, and show them off to everyone while making her impressive Chewbacca-like noises. She can be playful at times but is generally pretty low-key at home, and she is also currently living well with another dog. Meisha spent some time re-learning how to dog after some time spent as a stray, but has proven to be a very gentle, tolerant, and affectionate lady. She allows all types of petting, belly rubs (her favorite), and blanket swaddling . She is already house trained, knows "sit," and is working on a few other commands to add to her repertoire. Meisha is living in the city and can still a little nervous or distracted on walks (especially when there are loud noises), and also alert and pull-y on leash at times. While it may initially take some time to feel confident and learn to check in with her person, she has made many improvements with her fosters who have lots of tips and tricks for helping her stay cool, calm, and collected! Meisha previously had a cancerous mammary tumor removed before coming into our care. At that time there was no evidence of tumor metastasis (spread), but it is possible that more lumps or bumps will develop in the future, and her adopter should plan to have a close relationship with their full-service vet for continued monitoring. Despite her medical diagnosis, Meisha is full of joy and has some pep in her step! If you're ready to learn more about adopting this sweet and spunky lady, and give and receive so much love in return, please submit your application for Meisha today!
