Life has not been easy for Melody, even though she is one sweet girl. She found a home but was not able to remain due to circumstances beyond her control and not fault of hers. Still her spirits are high in finding an ideal family to love her and cherish her,She is 3 years old, house and leash trained. Of course, even housetrained dogs can have occasional accidents as they adjust to new routine and environment. She is working on her crate training. Melody is good traveling in a car and has lived with kids and other dogs. It is not known if she has ever lived with a cat. She has a black short coat and is considered a retriever mix. She is currently 53 pounds.Retrievers are known for their friendliness towards people. They have more than enough affection to go around for the whole family, too. They are intelligent and good-natured. They have plenty of energy as pups and usually like to stay active throughout their lives. They make great family companions. As a mix she will probably have a lot of these positive qualities.Daily exercise will support leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to her with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along her walk. She may also enjoy going for hikes. Melody will also benefit from mental stimulation in the form of activities and play toys. It will prevent boredom. Lots of attention will also be a must.A secure back yard would be a plus because it would give her free time to play and burn off energy. Are you willing to take on the task of helping Melody transition to a new life where she is once again loved and appreciated? * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine.
