She’s cautious with strangers and slow to trust new humans, but she connects instantly with other animals — dogs especially. Having a confident canine companion helps her feel safe, learn routines, and open up to her people over time. In the five months she’s been in foster care, Memmy has made incredible progress. She now asks for chin scratches, allows full-body pets, and is working on “touch” for treats. She’s mostly potty trained and will happily follow her dog friends anywhere, even to her gated “room” on command. When she’s excited, she does an adorable little prance and will gently boop your calf to show affection. Memmy has a calm, observant nature with bursts of playful energy. She’s never shown aggression — even when nervous during grooming or handling. She took longer to trust the men in her foster home but now greets them with the same sweet calf boops and occasional requests for affection. Her journey hasn’t been easy; when she first arrived, she was very ill and had to be hand-fed and hydrated for several days while caring for her surviving puppy. Her resilience and gentle spirit shine through in everything she does. Memmy will thrive in a patient home — ideally with another friendly dog to guide her. She may always be a bit reserved with people, but once you earn her trust, she’ll show you just how special she is: loyal, loving, and quietly full of joy. Memorial is from Texas.
