Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs – but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 3/26/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Mia is up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Sweet Mia arrived in rescue pregnant. Sadly, none of her babies survived the birth. Mia had an emergency c-section to try and save the lives of her puppies. We authorized that she was spayed while her little body was under anesthesia. Her doctors know they spayed her, but her vet records do not reflect this. Because of this, she will be adopted on a spay/neuter addendum that states that if she were ever to go into heat, you are required to spay her at your cost. Mia is very much an indoor princess and doesn't require a physically fenced yard. That said, a fenced yard is always a great safety feature for any dog. What kind of home would be best for me? Meet Mia, your future little Princess! Mia is a total lovebug who adores people. She thrives on attention, enjoys exploring her surroundings, and firmly believes the best place to be is in your lap. Whether you live in an apartment or a house, Mia's petite size and adaptable nature make her a great fit. She’s an energetic girl, so an active home where she’ll get plenty of playtime and affection is ideal. Mia is happy whether you’re single, a couple, or a family, as long as you provide plenty of love, attention, and time together. This girl loves to play and would be a great dog for kids that understand she is not a toy. She would love to run around your fenced in yard with them, your dog, or both of them. Mia does well with other small dogs but doesn’t like big dogs. If you don’t have children or another dog, let her out in your fenced in yard and watch her chase the butterflies! When she’s not outside burning off energy, you’ll find Mia exploring indoors, hopping onto couches and chairs—after all, the floor is no place for a princess! She thrives on human companionship and doesn’t like being left alone for long periods, as it makes her anxious. Her forever home is home more than they are away and/or has a plan for taking her with you. What is my personality like? Mia is the cutest Yorkshire Terrier you’ll ever meet! This little lady has been through a rough time recently—she sadly lost her puppies during a difficult pregnancy. Now, Mia is ready to leave that chapter behind and find a loving forever home where she can enjoy life to the fullest, with no more litters and plenty of pampering. Mia is a true people-lover and gets along well with other small dogs. She may be a bit too energetic for feline companions. Because of her size and affectionate nature, Mia makes a great companion for outings like errands, patio dining, or coffee shop visits. Wherever you go, she’ll want to be by your side—and preferably in your lap. Mia currently doesn’t walk on a leash; she prefers to follow her human closely. Leash training will be an important next step to ensure her safety. She also doesn’t know basic commands yet, sit, stay, down, and come, but with positive reinforcement, treats, and love, she’ll be eager to learn. When you open up your home and your heart to Mia, you will be welcoming in a cutie that wants nothing more than to be by your side at all times. How do I act when I first meet new people? Mia is friendly and loves attention. She expects to be treated like the princess she is, and her favorite place is always in your lap. She thrives on being close to her human and wants to be part of every moment of your day. Other tips and tidbits: Mia was born on or around 12/3/2022. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note – we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you – poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.
