Name: Miso Breed: Husky/Samoyed mix Weight: 70 pounds Gender: Male Spayed/neutered: Neutered Age: 4 years (DOB: Nov.11/20) Obtained From: Toronto area rescue group Reason for Intake: Miso bit our one-year-old child Up to Date with Vetting: yes Good with dogs: Dog selective. He boards with other dogs and there have been no issues. He lived with a female puppy for about 6 months but he would nip at her when he had enough with her behaviour. On walks he generally ignores other dogs but if they are reactive he will respond by barking and leaping at them Good with cats: He has not lived with a cat. He has visited a home with a cat and basically ignored the cat. Good with kids: No, he is not comfortable with toddlers or young children Good with strangers: If a stranger comes to visit he typically does not bark. He does not greet the stranger until his family tells him it is OK to. He will then go up and greet them calmly. Then he usually walks away and is not that interested in interacting with visitors. Resource guarding issues: Yes, with other dogs. Ever bitten a human: Yes, he bit the one-year-old Ever bitten a dog: Yes Fears: He is described as an anxious dog in general. He will be anxious in new environments and may pee when left alone. When younger, he initially barked/howled when left alone in new environments. He resource guards. It sounds like he is triggered by active dogs and humans. Housetrained: Yes. He pees and poops on walks right now but has had a yard in the past. Crate trained: Yes. He has a crate set up and goes in of his own accord. They typically do not shut him in the crate. Good in the car: Yes. He has also flown in plane cabins with his people. Bark when left alone: No Destructive: No Energy Level: Medium. He is not high energy Leash skills: He walks well on leash. 99% of the time he walks perfectly. They cross the street when they see other dogs. Okay with physical handling/manipulations: Yes. He is professionally groomed once a month and the groomer has not noted any concerns. At the vet he is a bit anxious and uncomfortable with handling to his back legs. Known commands: sit, lay down, wait, leave it/wait, break, peek-a-boo, roll over, spin, speak, foose (German for heel) Food on now: Orijin kibble. 1 cup, 2x/day. Behavioural issues: Dog selective, uncomfortable with active people and dogs, anxious in general. Uncomfortable with toddlers and young children Medical issues: None known.
