COME MEET MOLLY AND OTHER GREAT ADOPTABLE DOGS ON SATURDAY 1/31 FROM 11AM-2PM AT THE PETSTMART IN POTOMAC YARDS (3351 RICHMOND HIGHWAY, ALEXANDRIA, VA)!   Want to see more photos and videos of Molly?! Check out her foster adventures on Instagram @fetaandherfosterfriends! Name:   Molly        Best Guess for Breed:   Beagle and Jack Russell terrier mix   Best Guess for Age:  3 years and 3 months as of January 2026      SEX: Female   Approximate Weight:   12 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs! Molly is currently in a foster home with cats. We haven’t seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Molly is Looking For: Molly is a great little pup who is eager to see the world by the side of her new humans. Long sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures they can dream up – yes, please! Most of all, though, she wants to know where she belongs, that she’s safe and loved for all her days. In exchange she promises all those adoring gazes and happy little tail wags she’s storing up – and loyal companionship. What do you say? Is Molly the companion you have been seeking?   What My Foster Says About Me:  Molly is sweet and petite and oh-so-special! She has the ears of a Jack Russell, the sniffer of a beagle, the pout/underbite of a puggle, and a heart of gold! She is very friendly with people and greets everyone she meets. She enjoys belly rubs (and sometimes will roll around on her back like a turtle when it is time to get up). Although she does not live with children, she met some little kids while we were out and about and has been very cute with them and will lick their faces. She likes to sit in a bagel shape directly in the middle of the couch where you either have to move her so you can sit too…or if you lay down with her, she will stretch across your torso and snore in your ear. :) She is tolerant…even though her snow jacket is not her favorite, she lets me put it on. Snow is not a favorite…she would rather go do her thing outside and come right in with the snow on the ground. She knows how to sit (though she requires treats for her efforts) and lets me put her in the crate at night. She settles within 10 minutes and will sleep throughout the night until it’s time to be let out the next morning. She enjoys riding in the car with me and will jump right in when I open the door. I take her with me to run errands because she seems to like the experience and she just sits quietly while we ride. She has a good energy level, playful when she should (she likes to chase her own tail and throw toys for herself) but is totally happy napping on the back of the couch to sun her belly.  She adjusts her play style for my little dog who is distrustful of everything at first and has not been afraid of being around bigger dogs. She has been doing ok as we slowly introduce her to my cat, but I do think she will need slow and proper intros for success. She is a pint-sized little doll who deserves all the best!!! :)    Heartworm information: Molly is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Molly has completed this activity restriction period.    Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
