Please contact my foster at: scfree2016@gmail.comMona is proving to be an incredible dog. Here are some observations from her foster mom. Mona is joyful, curious, and playful. All of the nerves from being in a noisy, hectic shelter environment are gone!Has never met a human or a dog she has not lovedShe will need an owner who enjoys the outdoors and likes to take long walks (Mona wanted me to say that a 10 min potty break doesn’t count!)After her walk, she crashes, but we’ll see if her resident pittie brother can help her build up her endurance for long nature walksShe would love to be with other doggies in the household, as she is so socialAs much as she is game for a full-blown play session, she appears to read signals and backs off when the other dog is not as joyous as she is!She is 100% crate-trained She clearly had never been in a car before she came to live with us, but she is learning to love car rides as much as her brother, and that cars are *not* alien spaceships She has no problem sleeping in a bit, but will want to get up when you get upShe is an alert barker, but not over the topVery food driven, so training should be easy. She knows ‘sit’ and is so people-focused, she immediately responds to your voice. She does the cutest little jump with a simultaneous kiss all at once, but is learning to wait to be invited for love, and keep all four paws on the ground! She gets the most adorable zoomiesShe is a puller, so recommend a ‘reverse harness’ (loop under the chest) so she learns to walk by your sideTakes treats very softly, and does not appear to have any food guarding issues (even when her silly foster mama absent-mindedly reached into her bowl, and Mona just wagged her tail!)Loves toys…will prance around with one in her mouthWould recommend recall training so she does not say “hello” to EVERYTHING without invitation. ??Within a week, she has learned I’m a very safe person and cuddles quietly by my side when she’s ready to chillWill be safely testing her with cats and children, but am feeling optimistic She is experiencing some spay complications, so it’s hard to judge her potty training, but she clearly knows that the outdoors are where her toilet is located!
