Name:  Moo Moo     Best Guess for Breed:   Pit bull terrier mix Best Guess for Age:  6 years as of October 2024     Gender:Female Approximate Weight:  40 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! Moo Moo currently lives with cats. We haven’t seen her with kids but we can test her if you have them!  Currently Living At: Arriving 3/1 to a DC area foster home Check out this video of Moo Moo: https://youtu.be/LgmRn5eL7Pw. All About Moo Moo:  Moo Moo is the best kind of house hippo.  She loves her people, sunny spots, her sofa, and her people. In that order.  She is so incredibly gentle and loving that staff immediately fell in love with her when she arrived in the shelter. She became a favorite and was promoted to Office Dog. Staff repaid her for brightening their days by giving her rides in the golf cart, a fun treat she relished. She liked being around other dogs there – she isn’t into wrestling or play, but likes them.  The shelter reluctantly sent her to a foster home where, predictably, her fosters fell in love with her too. Moo Moo has been the perfect houseguest. Lots of love, lots of joy and happiness. No unauthorized chewing, counter surfing, or digging in the yard. She leaves the cats alone. She is such an easy dog – she goes out to potty and comes back inside fast – no need for standing around in the rain or cold, silently urging her to just do her business.  Do you enjoy long walks? Great! Moo Moo will send you off with adoring gazes and happily await your return. One thing before you go, please – could you just adjust the couch so it’s in the middle of that sunbeam? Yes, perfect! And then when you return, it’s to an explosion of joy and lethal tail-wagging. This girl is not anyone’s hiking buddy – she’s all about the snuggles on the sofa and she fully expects those from her people.  Moo Moo makes a house a home. She makes you feel all is right and good with the world. She is scheduled to arrive in the DC area on Saturday, March 1. If your life is missing a house hippo, if you’re ready to supply cuddles and soft spots and warmth – come meet her! What My DC Area Foster Says About Me: Coming soon! Heartworm Information: Moo Moo is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  Moo Moo has completed the treatment and activity restriction period, and is awaiting her 6-month follow up test.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
