Meet Moose! This 5-year old miniature mammal is actually a French Bulldog who has melted our hearts and came to us when his owner could no longer care for him. It breaks our hearts that he had an owner who loved him beyond words. One who knew letting him go would be the best lifeline for both of them and made this difficult decision from a place of love. We promised to find this sweet man his perfect happy ending to live out all of his days being pampered and loved. Moose entered our rescue with his English Bulldog brother, Dunkin. They are being fostered together and could be adopted together (for double the bulldog fun!) or separately.  Moose is, well, Moosetacular. Yes, we know his name is ironic considering his diminutive stature. The most massive thing about him is his heart. In fact, this chocolate-mousse Frenchie has stolen the hearts of everyone he has met. Like a tiny turtle, Moose is slow-moving and peaceful. He is an easy dog with an easy-going and friendly personality. Snuggles? Yes, please. Leisurely walks in the snow? No thanks. Moose might be missing the traditional bat ears (uh, antlers), but makes up for it in lovey dovey personality. He is super snuggly and prefers to sit on your lap or beside you at all times to be close. Fun fact: Moose calves can outrun a human by the time they’re five days old. But this baby Moose has sensitive tootsies and likes to be carried to his spot outside to do his business. A little pile of leaves on top of the snow is extra enticing. And of course he needs to be bundled up in a jacket. Moose is just a realllllly good dog and a sensitive spirit who needs a soft place to land. He would make a great companion for a family and is dog- and cat-friendly. Due to a lack of history, older kids would be best for this pint-sized and portable pooch. Don’t moose out on the fun! Adopters will need to understand the breed and what owning a bulldog entails. The extreme features that make Moose ridiculously handsome require some extra attention. Adorable wrinkles require some additional cleaning and care. And that squishy face can mean breathing difficulty with exercise or quickly overheating in the sun. The good news is that we have a known history on Moose, including prior vet care. Moose has already had stenotic nares surgery, a procedure that widens a dog's nostrils to improve breathing and reduce respiratory distress and is in overall good health! Moose’s top 3 priorities: 1. A family who really wants a cuddle puddle in their lap and will allow a pup onto the furniture and in bed to be close. 2. A family who is looking for a chill and easy friend. 3. A family who is aware of the potential medical costs associated with bulldogs of any type and is willing to care for Moose for all of his days. Pet insurance is highly recommended.
