Meet Murphy, the adorable 10-week-old bundle of joy who joined us just about a month ago! He arrived at just 6 weeks old weighing 3 lbs, fitting into a palm and at his booster shot appointment this week weighed 14.4 lbs! Murphy is as cute as a bug and spends his days soaking up cuddles, napping peacefully, and playing with his toys and our resident shepherds. This brave little explorer is energetic and curious, talkative and courageous, always ready to discover new things around him. With his playful spirit and love for food, mealtime is one of his highlights! Murphy has shown a preference for pottying outside with the rarest of accidents now that we know his patterns and is almost mastering the art of sleeping through the night. He's graduated from his pen area following many escapades, climbing out to freedom, graduating to a crate when his family is out of the house, and for nighttime sleeping. This spirited, adventurous, brave boy has also mastered stairs. As much as he loves his independence, you'll find him right next to his favorite people with a toy or napping on their feet. Murphy knows his name and will come running when called in the yard and inside; he's also learned to sit and wait for his bowl to be set down for mealtime. A fast eater, he's loving his most adorable flower slow feeder bowl from SpotKnot.com.  He's also a pro at car rides, going for walks in his puppy carriage. He lives with three resident dogs in his foster home and fully engages in their play sessions. Murphy has also spent several afternoons at a relief foster home with other shepherds when his foster family expected to be gone longer than they would prefer to leave him at home.  He happily hangs out and then runs with his little legs when he hears his foster mama's voice to say hello. Murphy has had playdates with Otte, Lunaa, and Bing (a recent arrival to rescue) and met Willard when their fosters met at the vet for their vaccines and shopping at Pet Food Express. Murphy is ready to find a loving forever home where he can continue to grow, explore, and bring joy. Would you be the one to give him that home?Adopters interested in Murphy must have experience with shepherds or similar working/herding breeds, be able to be home with him or take him to work, as young puppies this age cannot be alone for long hours, and be committed to raising a young puppy into a neutral adult dog with environmental exposures, structure, and training. Murphy will not be fully vaccinated until all of his boosters are completed at 16 weeks; adopters must consider that he can't be on the ground in public areas since parvo is present. Have you visited our YouTube channel? We'd love your support by subscribing to the channel and liking and commenting on the videos we share of our current and adopted shepherds. As a foster-based rescue, ShepHeroes is always in need of fosters. An overwhelming number of shepherds in our local shelters need our help for a fresh start. Would you be willing to share your home and part of your summer to help shepherds find new families? You provide the love, and we'll provide everything else! Saying "yes" today truly saves a life. Complete this  https://www.shepheroes.org/foster-form, and we'll be in touch ASAP! We appreciate your consideration.
