"Hi, I'm Nala! Much like Nala from Lion King, I am a strong and willful female kitty, but I am also very loving. I was born in October 2023 and was adopted by an older woman as a kitten to be her companion. I did not like that she tried to dress me up (I ask you…would you see Nala's Lion King in a frilly pink dress???) so I started to react when she was around me and would swat at her when I sensed she was going to do something I didn't like. She got mad at this and scheduled a date to put me down. A compassionate family member thought that was unfair to me since I was only 1.5 years old and saw my potential, so she reached out to LCCR to rescue me. The older woman was happy to give me up. So here I am in a foster home in New Cumberland! My foster mom is used to dealing with kitties who might not trust people 100%, so she gave me a lot of space and love. It's been great, and I've been able to decompress a lot! Not once has she come at me with anything to put on, not even a collar. I enjoy laying next to her, even at night, I'll sleep next to her pillow. I love being pet and purrrrrrr, but I will be sure to let you know when the petting is just TOO MUCH with a swat or a little nip. My foster mom has learned my cues, and she stops petting me when she sees my tail start to swish. I'm grateful someone understands kitty body language. I've never been around other animals at my old owner's house, and I'm around cats and a dog at my foster home. I'm not terribly happy with the dog and will charge him, and I also am not crazy about the other rambunctious cats in the house–I don't care for their energy level or when they get too close. But if there is another cat in my adoptive home who doesn't bother me, that would be fine. I just like my own personal space. But at my foster home I have learned that I LOVE feather toys and can't get enough of them. If someone could play with me 20 hours a day, I would be the happiest cat ever. Otherwise when my foster dad is working downstairs in my room, he will put on Cat TV and I will sit transfixed and watch the birds and chipmunks and squirrels intently. I love food so that can be a great motivator to train me. My foster mom introduced me to Churus, and my gosh, I'd eat the whole packaging if I could. I am a fun cat with a big personality. I'm not shy, and I'm adorable with big round eyes. I want to be adopted by someone who has experience with cats and can be patient with me. It'll be worth it, I promise! Nala was born in October 2023 and is currently living in a foster home in New Cumberland. Her adoption donation is $115 and and includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing (negative for both), microchip, and spay.
