Name:  Nero       Best Guess for Breed:  Chihuahua mix Best Guess for Age:  1.5 years as of January 2026        SEX: Male   Approximate Weight:  14.6 lbs    Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven’t seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations:  Because Nero is extremely shy and nervous, he is REQUIRED to go to a home that already has a confident resident dog that will show him the world isn’t so scary and help him build his braves.   Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think this pup would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   Nero is Looking For:  His forever home! Nero is a sato – a dog from Puerto Rico. He’s eager to get his fresh start with his own humans in the DC area. Sniffy walks, romps, all the adventures in his new setting – yes, please! But you know what he wants most of all? To know he’s safe and loved, where he belongs. In exchange he promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? What My Foster Says About Me:  We will update this once this pup has spent time in foster care.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
