However, I do get pretty active during dawn and dusk and like to explore my enclosure. Kingsnakes usually tolerate handling pretty well. While each snake has a unique personality, kingsnakes are generally docile and tolerant. It is important that when committing to take care of an exotic animal for the entirety of its life that you are prepared for that commitment. Exotic animals require annual vet exams much like a dog or cat. Proper temperatures in the tank and exposure to UV lighting are extremely important for your reptile's health and well being. The size of your snake's prey should be no more than 1.5x the width of your kingsnake at its widest point. Your kingsnake should have always have access to a large bowl of fresh, clean water. It should be large enough for the snake to curl up inside if it's in the mood for a soak.
