A SWEET & ACTIVE YOUNG GUY:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 24 lbs. Hi there, I’m Nicky!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and I’m sure happy to be here!  I don’t recall how I ended up without a home, but I’m happy to have a new opportunity to find a great family – perhaps with you? I was adopted for a few months, but the family realized they weren’t ready for a young active dog, so I’m back with MM looking for a great home! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I want to be your only dog as I’m not fond of other dogs and am a bit reactive when I see them on walks. / Cats unknown. / I met kids that were around 10 years old at MM and liked them, so if you have kids around that age, let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me or that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me as very sweet, a little shy, happy, very playful, fun, friendly and handsome. My former family also reported that I was very active. I am a Dachshund, so I have a big personality and a little typical Dachshund attitude, so I’m ready for fun! / My energy level is 6–8, so I am looking for a family member who will be active with me. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer!  So far, I know the ‘sit’ command.  My former family also reported that I knew ‘stay’, ‘come’ and ‘leave it’, so I’ll be tested for those soon. I’m working on not being reactive when I see other dogs on walks and a MM trainer will be happy to go over this with you. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I’m having some accidents on the shelter schedule and in my former home, so please keep me on a good take-out schedule with positive reinforcement so I can master my potty manners.   • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love belly rubs, going for walks, giving kisses, running around to get my energy out and playing with toys. I’m sure we will find lots of other things we like doing together, too. / Other than other dogs, I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. Since I'm a Dachshund, I naturally have a long back which is subject to injury, so please don't allow me to jump on and off furniture so we can keep me safe and healthy. If you’re looking for a young fun dog and will put the time in for my training and exercise, we could be a good match. My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
