Nicky is a love bug.  He loves everyone he meets.  He enjoys going for a walk then coming home to snuggle up with his human and get belly rubs.  If you want a dog who always wants to be near you, Nicky is a great choice.  He will happily sleep at your feet while you work or watch TV. He is super smart and knows sit, wait, and let's go.  He learns quickly and wants to please – always looking to his handler for guidance and reassurance. He is looking for his special human(s) to love forever – could you be that person? Nicky is a survivor.  He was found as a stray when he was not even a year old.  During his time wandering the streets he suffered a broken leg which got no medical attention.  Imagine the poor guy surviving on the streets for months with a broken leg.  It did not heal properly so he has a limp.  Despite this tough beginning he still believes in people and has faith that his special human will come along and give him the life he deserves.Nicky is a mixed breed, probably with some Shepherd.  At almost two years he is a young adult with a calm energy – past the crazy puppy stage.  He is medium sized at 50 pounds, easy to walk and handle, and fully housetrained.  He likes his walks but is very happy to hang around the house, play fetch in the back yard, and take lots of naps.  He can entertain himself well – he loves toys and will play by quite independently.  He is great in the crate – goes in with a little bribe of a treat, relaxes and goes to sleep.   At his foster's he sleeps in the crate all night with no trouble. He likes dogs when properly introduced and enjoys playing with his foster sibling.  While he enjoys having a doggie friend we think he would be fine as an only dog.Nicky would make a great addition to any home.  Don't you want to adopt this sweet amazing boy who just wants to be loved?  Fill out an application today!PAW places animals in the DC/ MD/ VA/ PA area.
