NIKO NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:    Niko           Best Guess for Breed:  Lab and hound mix      Best Guess for Age:   4 months as of 11/1/25           SEX:  Male   Estimated Weight (puppies’ weights change quickly!):    14 lbs as of 10/21/25   Gets Along With:        Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at: DC area foster home   Special Adoption Considerations:    Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Niko would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Niko is Looking For:   His forever home! Niko is a sato from Puerto Rico who can’t wait to find his forever home in the DC area. He wants what all puppies want – play time, snuggles, and world exploration! Making pup pals is high on his wish list, and he’d like to go to puppy school too, so he can learn to be the bestest boy.    Most of all, though, he wants to be safe and loved for all his days, to know where he belongs.
