Critter Details
Greetings all. My name is NOLA and below you'll find some info about me:Breed: Chihuahua/Spaniel mixAge: 1 yearGender: FemaleSize: 6 kgHeight: tbdCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlights: very quiet, friendly, calm, cuddly, smart, affectionateFriendly and affectionate seeking same in a human companion. That is my classified ad.Early life wasn’t easy for me. I was stolen once, taken away from safety and love. But fate had other plans. I was rescued from the outskirts of the city and brought back to kindness, care, and security. Since then, I have been learning what it truly means to be safe and loved again.Despite my past, my spirit remains gentle. I am calm and affectionate. I rarely bark; instead, I have a sweet way of “singing” or softly howling, when I want attention or am feeling emotional.I find enjoyment in walks and behave beautifully on a leash. I get along well with women, men, and other dogs and cats. I am not destructive, don’t chew on things, and am not picky about food.Although I currently don’t care much for toys, I do get a little protective over my food and belongings — just a reminder of the times I had to look after myself. Hopefully time will mellow that, when I realize I have plenty and don't have to worry about things being taken away. I'd appreciate you working with me on it. I am good with other dogs otherwise. Though my rescuer states I am good with kids and cats too, we have no photgraphic proof of this at this time.In the car, I am calm and quiet. I just enjoy the ride with trust in my humans. I am happiest when I am near hpmy people, going for walks, visiting the park, or simply sitting quietly by their side. I am just a gentle, loyal companion who’s learning every day that love means safety, not fear.I'm the kind of dog who will bond deeply with my person. If you're ready, here I am.Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown (rescuer states yes, but no media proof)Kids: unknown (rescuer states yes, await media proof)Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training:Leash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. While our rescuers always seek a flight without a charge, there is the possibility of a passenger fee, not to exceed $300.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in – at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 – $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee.[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper.
