See Oaken – MA’s HomepageGo to our official websiteYou can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Oaken is an energetic young mal who needs a family who can give him the time he needs to unwind and have some fun.   He is affectionate and playful.    At 2 years old, Oaken is crate trained and he knows basic to intermediate commands taught to him by attending a basic obedience class with his family.  His family has taught him how to be polite when taking a treat from someone whether it is a child or an adult.  He will wait patiently until he is given the command to eat while his dish is put down.  He does not resource guard his food or toys.                                                                                                         Oaken is timid at times with some larger men and he sometimes reacts by barking  and posing  to keep the person at bay.  He does not react this way to all men.  Oaken's adopter  needs to devote time to further socialize him which will help with eliminating this fear.   He behaves in public with unknown people and walks well on lead.  When people come into his family's home, he gets excited at first but then he calms down when he knows his family is not in danger.                                                                                                                                                    Oaken is overjoyed when he is released from his crate so much so that he gets the zoomies.                                                        Oaken needs an experienced working breed adopter who can give him further training on a consistent basis along with  ample daily exercise.  Due to his need for further training and socialization, he  would  thrive in a home without young children even though he does well with the young children at his current home.  Oaken has a high ball drive which requires a fenced-in yard with space to play ball with Oaken.  A large yard would be  ideal to give him the space he needs to run.  He enjoys playing with his male companion dog.                                                                                                                                                       Please note that this  listing is a courtesy   listing.  The  ABMR is assisting the  owner  to help Oaken find an  appropriate  and  great home.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    ABMR thanks you for taking the time to look at our malinois available for adoption.
