Hi there! My name is Orli, and here’s a little info about me:Breed: Labrador & Anatolian ShepherdAge: 3–1/2 years oldGender: MaleWeight: 18 kg (40 pounds)Height: 50–55 cm (ground to shoulder)Country of Origin: TurkeyHighlights: Gentle & Friendly, Cuddly & Loving, sweet, resilient, Affectionate.Hi – I am here in Canada now. My foster mom says I am a honeypie! I am gentle and non-demanding, quickly adapting, responding to all the life around me. I love the COUCH and I am very cuddly. Getting along the my foster siblings and all people I meet. Playing with toys and other dogs. Snuggly like you would not believe.I’m Orli, a sweet and gentle boy with the biggest heart. Life hasn’t always been easy, but through it all, I’ve held onto my love for people and my joyful spirit. I’m ready to bring warmth and sunshine into a forever home.My journey started with heartbreak. As a teenage puppy, I was left at a feeding spot with my ears cruelly cut off — a sign I had been used as a shepherd dog. In many places, dogs like me are expected to be aggressive and protective, and if we aren’t, we’re abandoned. Despite what I endured, I stayed soft, gentle, and loving.I found happiness with a pack of dogs, but then I was struck by a car and had to undergo surgery. I recovered, thanks to my resilience, and rejoined my pack. Not long after, the municipality captured us all and sent us to the shelter under a new mass collection law. For dogs like me — sensitive, submissive, and kind — survival there is almost impossible. My rescuers fought for me every day until the municipality finally released me. By then, my body was covered in bite marks from other dogs, but my spirit was still intact. The moment I left the shelter, I wagged my tail, turned my back on the place, and never looked back. I was ready to start fresh — and now I’m dreaming of a family to call my own.I’d love a home where I’m part of the family and included in daily life. I don’t need much — just love, care, and someone who won’t give up on me. In return, I’ll give you endless loyalty and affection.Energy Level: Low to ModerateI get along with:Dogs: YesCats: UnknownKids: UnknownFears: None observed — please just be patient as I settle into my new life.Training: some and looking forward to learning more!Leash Skills: Yes, I walk nicely without pulling, but really like sniffing as well.House Trained: mostly – please help me learn in my new home.Health Notes:I have been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.Tested negative for Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Anaplasma, Giardia, Parvo, Corona & DistemperMy ears were cut off when I was younger, but it doesn’t affect me now.My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD + applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if a flight volunteer is available to accompany me directly to Vancouver.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in – at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 – $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee.[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper.
