Oscar and Mayer are an adorable bonded pair of 3-year-old male Dachshunds looking for a forever home where they can stay together. These best friends have been through a lot and lean on each other for comfort, confidence, and companionship, so they're happiest when they're side by side. Oscar arrived at RCHS very underweight, but with plenty of love and care, he's filled out nicely and is feeling better than ever. Now he and Mayer are ready to start the next chapter of their lives with a family of their own. These two sweet boys are great with other dogs and do well with children, though they would do best in a home with older kids who understand that Dachshunds have delicate backs and need to be handled carefully. They would prefer a home without cats, as they think chasing them sounds like a fun game! Oscar and Mayer absolutely love toys, attention, and spending time with their people. They are not yet confirmed to be potty trained, so their new family should be prepared to help them settle into a routine with patience and consistency. Because Dachshunds are a unique breed with specific care needs, these boys are looking for a home with someone who has Dachshund experience or is familiar with the breed's personality and back care requirements. If you're ready to open your heart and home to two loyal, loving companions, Oscar and Mayer are waiting to meet you. Adoption fees, homechecks, and references are required. ALL of us  at RCHS work very hard to save these precious lives, and our only pay we get as volunteers, is a GOOD HOME LIFE for them, we all are volunteers, so please be patient and considerate of our time and responses.
