Adoption Event Schedule Events run from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM every month at these locations: 2nd Saturday, Sacramento – Pet Food Express 3rd Saturday, Modesto – Strand Hardware Store 4th Saturday, Roseville – Pet Food Express Please visit the GCGSR Rescue Page for specific address information. All of our dogs are in foster homes and not in one single kennel location.  Adoption events is the best way to meet several of our dogs at once. Pannatone aka Tony is a 10 month old male German shepherd puppy. He came to us as a stray with his sister, so not much is known of his background. During Tony’s short time in foster, we have learned he is a busy boy who likes to be everywhere. Fostered on 2 acres, Tony runs full speed with another similar aged GSD around the property. Both boys can keep at this for quite some time. Tony would love a home where daily exercise is a priority! Tony also displays polite play styles with other dogs, and has been introduced to dogs as small as 15 lbs and as large as 90 lbs. Tony is exposed to horses, chickens and goats through a fence and pays little attention to them. Tony is working on not jumping, being mouthy or pulling on the leash. He is crate trained and has high food motivation. Due to Tony’s exuberance, a home with no small children would be ideal for this boy. The perfect home for Tony would be one with owners who are willing to dedicate time and training to him, continue socialization and have consistent boundaries, as well as someone likes to be active with their pet. Tony is currently being fostered with a dog trainer and comes with a discount to continue any training once adopted. Tony is a level 3 dog. Please be sure you understand what a dog of this Level requires. Go to our home page for an explanation of the Dog Rating Levels. That means we don’t adopt out of our area, to Southern California, or out of state. We have special Requirements for Adopting a Puppy and a separate Puppy Questionnaire that must be completed on puppies.
