Nothing says Merry Christmas like unbridled joy and Papaya (aka Ruby) has it in spades! This energetic bundle of sweetness is a 2-yr-old, 50 lb. Pittie mix who loves being part of a pack. She’s looking for a family who will show her a world of love and continue the training she needs to become her best self. Ruby gets along well with other dogs and LOVES to play. A fenced yard would be great for zoomies but she also enjoys checking out all the scents on a hike. She would absolutely adore having another playful dog in her house. A trip to doggy daycare or the dog park would be swell, too! You provide the adventure; Ruby will provide the energy. Don't worry, after playtime she is quite content to laze around on a couch or, better yet, any available lap. She's also fine having a treat in her crate when her energy level reaches time out stage.Ruby spent part of her youth in the stray scene so she's in the process of learning the basics of home life. She is very people focused, treat motivated and eager to please. This is serving her well in her foster home, where she's getting high marks in the GOOD GIRL category. She knows "sit" and is working on "down," "wait" and other commands, and her recall is coming along nicely. Ruby likes toys and activities that challenge her, like getting a treat out of a Kong toy, as well as those that don't, like good old-fashioned tug-of-war. "Excited" perfectly describes Ruby at walk time (and meal time, play time and, well, pretty much any time). We wouldn't say her leash manners are refined yet but they are improving daily with encouragement and yummy treats as incentives.Need to go out for a bit? No problem. Ruby is more than happy to come along – she loves car rides! She settles in quickly and enjoys watching the sights go by. Be ready when you reach your destination, though… opening her door is like a jack-in-the-box! If you need to leave her at home, she'll hang out quietly in her crate until you return. And when you do, she'll make you feel like a rock star (see previous "jack-in-the-box" comment).If you’re looking for a companion who’s up for anything, Ruby is your gal.
