This lovely young lady is named PEANUT. She is actually about 5 to 6 years old according to staff’s estimates and she weighed 28 pounds when she arrived at the shelter at the end of January 2025. She is white with brown brindle markings and is the prettiest little thing in person! She has the cutest fawn like legs and it is fun to watch her standing up and walking on them and when she is running and playing. Thanks to a partnership Between UT and the Cumberland County Animal Shelter, PEANUT has now been spayed. That means that she can go home the same day that she is adopted! Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared! That includes taking a dog collar and leash with you to the adoption appointment in case you do decide to adopt PEANUT or one of the other spayed or neutered dogs currently at the shelter. Even better, take a dog crate with you to that appointment. No animal should be allowed to run freely in any vehicle. Especially an animal that you have just adopted! Safety first!
