Please contact Jodi Rosenberg (jodi.rosenberg@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet mama ready for her own family! PECAS NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Pecas Best Guess for Breed: Terrier and shepherd mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of April 2026 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 31 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven’t seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: Puerto Rico shelter – needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here! Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think this pup would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes. Pecas is Looking For: Her forever home! Pecas is a sato – a dog from Puerto Rico. She did an amazing job of raising her babies Pablo, Paul, Pecky and Perry, and they’re off to get their own homes. It is now Pecas’ turn to get her own forever family! She is eager to explore her new area by the side of her new humans. Sniffy walks and romps and lots and lots of cuddles – that’s high on her list. Most of all, though, she wants to know where she belongs, to be safe and loved. In exchange, she promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Is there a spot for Pecas in your home and your heart? What My Puerto Rico Foster Says About Me: My foster in Puerto Rico say that I’m as sweet as they come! She doing well with house-training and already knows basic commands like “sit.” Full of charisma and love, She has a playful spirit and plenty of energy to brighten your days. She absolutely loves being around people and will happily greet everyone she meets. One of her favorite things is snuggling up in a cozy human bed, right by your side. She’s also a big fan of plush toys and can keep herself entertained (and adorable) for hours. She currently lives peacefully with other dogs, cats, and even birds. Car rides are one of her favorite adventures, and she behaves beautifully—especially when there’s a pup cup involved! She is adorable.
