9/11/2025Peg is an ABR return looking for a new homeHi! My name is Peg! I am a beautiful 4-5 year old fawn girl that is an adopted return due to my owner's health failing and he is unable to care for me any longer. I am described as friendly, active, smart, protective, noisy, and affectionate! I do not live with another dog and am said to not be friendly with most other dogs. I live peacefully with a cat and we get along fine. I get along with children but do not live with any in my current home. I am house trained, crate trained, currently working with a trainer, and at night I sleep in the human's bedroom. My work with the trainer began to help me overcome past traumas and not to toot my own horn, but I've made great progress! We have steadily worked on obedience, socialization, confidence building, positive behavior modification, and desensitization in real world settings. My trainer is proud of me! If the humans must be away and I am left alone, I am fine. I can get very excited and will also be guarding and protective of my people. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, playing with toys, squeaker toys, and going on walks! My preferred home would be one that can help continue training and provide structure, can provide me with regular exercise and mental stimulation, calm and loving but gently assertive when redirecting is needed, and most important patient and willing while I learn to build trust and confidence in my new home!
