Name: Perdita        Best Guess for Breed:  Lab and boxer mix    Best Guess for Age:  11 months as of December 2025       SEX: Female   Approximate Weight:   48 lbs as of 12/20/25 – might have a tiny bit more to grow.   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven’t seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! We have tested Perdita with some of the cats at the shelter, and she did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Perdita could live with a cat, she has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack.   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Perdita is Looking For:   Her forever home! This girl has got all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager for long walks and romps in parks and all the adventures her new humans can dream up. Making pup pals along the way would be great too. Once she’s gotten her wiggles out she’s ready to have a place she can come home to with yummy food and a cushy dog bed – yes, those too! But you know what she wants most of all? To know where she belongs, to spend time with her favorite people, and to be safe and loved.    Perdita has so much to give to her humans – adoring gazes, love, and loyal companionship for all her days.
