Please contact Chandler Jaffe (chandler.jaffe@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.little miss looking for a home!PERSIMMON NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:  Persimmon         Best Guess for Breed:  Lab/hound mix    Best Guess for Age:  1 year as of May 2024         SEX:    Female   Approximate Weight:  35lbs as of May 2024   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! Persimmon also lived with a cat in her foster home and did well.   Currently Living at: DC area boarding facility   Special adoption considerations:  Because Persimmon is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. We would be cautious placing Persimmon in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise.  Children would need to be supervised closely to not leave doors open and should never walk the dog without an adult holding the leash.  We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.   Persimmon is Looking For:   Her forever home! She was lucky enough to be taken in by a rescue in Kabul, Afghanistan earlier this year, and now she’s even luckier because she came to the DC area on a rescue flight!    Persimmon is a sweet, goofy girl looking for a forever home when she can be cherished as part of the family. She would love a family who can provide her with plenty of opportunities for play and exercise, as she’s still a young pup! She dreams of long sniffy walks, trips to the park, and all of the snuggles with her people.    To get there, she needs extra patient and loving adopters who will help her experience new environments and people at her pace. A welcoming resident dog will help show her how to dog too!  What My Foster Says About Me: She is shy and reserved at first, but once she opens up, she is excited, happy, and loving. She’s easily adaptable to other pets and is comfortable with both dogs and cats. Persimmon has a healthy appetite and loves all kinds of treats, including chicken jerky and peanut butter treats! She’s been a delight on walks, maintaining a relaxed leash while exploring her new country! Persimmon is still getting used to the crate but is making progress. She’s going to be the best pup for whoever is lucky enough to be her family.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
