POPEYE JR NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:  Popeye Jr          Best Guess for Breed:  Terrier/Chihuahua mix    Best Guess for Age:  2 years as of January 2025        SEX: Male   Approximate Weight:  18 lbs as of 1/28/25; he is underweight and needs to gain   Gets Along With: Other dogs, kids, and cats! Popeye Jr has lived with other dogs, a cat, and kids in his foster home and done well with all three. We are happy to discuss integration strategies for any adopter.   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home.   From Popeye Jr.’s Foster: Popeye Jr. is a fearless, curious, and outgoing pup! He enjoys chew and squeaky toys, and loves playing with my other dogs in the yard. He definitely has big dog spirit in a small dog’s body – he bravely steals the favorite toy of the dog three times his size to initiate games of chase. And his favorite place to rest is on the top of the sofa back. He is just so much fun to watch.  In the home, he sleeps quietly in the crate overnight and hasn’t had potty accidents. He also met the foster’s cat and didn’t react or try to chase it. He has been fine on the leash. He is super sweet and amazing with kids (tested with 5 yr. old, 10 y r old, 12 yr old).   He really is the absolutely sweetest dog in the world. He loves to lay on the couch and get belly rubs – he would do that all day long if he could. He and his forever family will be very lucky to have each other.    What Popeye Jr. Is Looking For: See what his foster says above! Love and belly rubs, a cushy sofa, chew toys and squeaky toys, opportunities to make pup pals, world exploration on sniffy walks, and to give as much love as he receives!!!
