Apparently there's some debate about my age. Some paperwork says I'm 5, the computer says I'm 11, and honestly, I don't know what all the fuss is about. I feel fantastic. I run, play, cuddle, and have zero interest in acting like a senior citizen. Maybe one day science will solve the mystery, but until then, I'm sticking with "ageless and handsome." My favorite thing in the world is hanging out with my people. The older kids in my foster home are especially awesome. When they're watching TV on the couch, I like to drape myself across them like a fuzzy weighted blanket. Personal space is overrated. I know some important commands like sit, down, and stay. I am also highly motivated by snacks. Turkey meatballs, for example, are my love language. I have a soft, velvety coat that people can't stop petting. I enjoy toys… although I should probably clarify that my definition of "enjoy" means "systematically dismantle." Plush toys don't stand a chance. Throw pillows? Also not safe. Don't worry—I don't eat any of it. I just like turning things into artistic piles of fluff and fabric. It's my creative talent. I love tug games, though I get a little enthusiastic and occasionally my exuberance means I my regrip catches fingers but I am learning how to be more careful. When I'm not redecorating the house, you'll find me relaxing in my crate. It's my safe space, my bedroom, my little retreat from the world. Now, I do have a few things I'm working on. Bikes, lawnmowers, and other fast-moving things tend to get me pretty excited. I also take my job of spotting squirrels and other critters very seriously. Extremely seriously. They tell me that my prey drive is no joke. So I wouldn’t make a good fit for families with cats, small animals or toddlers. As for other dogs, I prefer careful introductions and experienced handling. I can be reactive and tend to think that every fence line is the site of an important international dispute that requires my immediate involvement. Afterall, I am a Malinois with a job of keeping my family and home safe. One thing I don't worry about? Fireworks and loud noises. While other dogs are losing their minds, I'm usually wondering if anyone has snacks. And here's a secret: I don't bark at the mailman. Instead, when mail comes through the mail slot, I politely push it back out. I consider this an important quality-control service that I provide free of charge. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate boy with a huge heart, a great sense of humor, and just enough mischief to keep life interesting, I might be your guy. Now excuse me while I go check the mail slot for incoming. If you would like to give me a soft place to spend the rest of my days, please complete the application: https://www.malinoisrescue.org/forms/form?formid=6574 ABMR thanks you for taking the time to look at our malinois available for adoption.
