Critter Details

Say hello to this gorgeous 3.5 – 4-month-old baby girl. She and her littermate arrived on May 1st just in time for Big Day of Giving, a four-county effort to celebrate and support over 800 non-profits operating in Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, and Yolo Counties in collaboration with the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. At first, super shy pups arrived via two transport legs to bring them to safety. They were sighted by concerned farmers who spied a mama with six puppies. They organized with the local shelter to protect the family, but they could only initially trap four puppies. All four of those puppies have been adopted. It took another two weeks before the mama and these two littermates were enticed to safety. The mama is safe and has a committed adopter, leaving her remaining two puppies needing help. Both puppies are safely in temporary foster homes near our vet. They have appointments on May 5th for their following vaccines and spay exams. Once altered, the pups will head to their next foster home, remaining until adoption.  Pup 2 will also have her abdominal hernia repaired during her spay surgery.Pup 2 is also so sweet and gentle. Of the two pups, she's braver and more treat-motivated. She's been appreciating the quiet of her foster home and the tenderness with which her foster family is also helping her adjust to separating from her family. She currently resides with two resident dogs. Her next foster family also has two resident shepherds. They both had baths, leaving all the mud and dirt in the tub. They've been treated for fleas and parasites, shedding the flea infestation. They're soft, cuddly, and parasite-free now. We'll update you as we learn more about Pups 1 and 2.  We're looking forward to getting to know these two, who still have all their baby teeth, naming them, and sharing updates on their bios.Have you visited our YouTube channel?
