To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see HERE Age: About 3 months (as of 07/04/24) Weight: 22 pounds (as of 07/10/24) Location: RI Quil is available for adoption to Massachusetts residents, as well as those in the other New England states. This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Quil, a member of the New Moon litter. We are thinking handsome Quil is a Labrador Retriever / Hound mix. These babies are typical bundles of puppy energy who now spend their days playing chase, exploring their foster home, and then settling down for a cuddle – a far cry from their humble start. Quil is an outgoing pup who is always ready for the next adventure. He enjoys playing with the dogs in his foster home. He has been respectful of the older dogs when they are done with the puppy energy. He loves to play and run in the yard and would love a yard of his own. He is looking for an adopter who would enjoy activities and exercise. He is working on housetraining and is doing well in his crate. His intelligent nature leads us to believe a little consistency will put him on the path to success in both areas. A Wiley’s Road Home foster volunteer encountered a stray dog, visibly emaciated, yet wearing the proud badge of a nurturing mother. The volunteer trailed the canine heroine to a nearby house, where an elderly couple resided, and found a litter of pups tucked under the home, where Mom had made them a safe nest. Wiley’s accepted the family into rescue and volunteers literally crawled under the house through a tiny opening to bring the pups to safety. As it turns out, the couple were not even aware the family had taken up residence. The New Moon puppies are patiently waiting for adopters who want to welcome them into their family and nurture them through their next phases and into the full life they deserve! An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know – For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
