Rocko is a 4-year-old Staffy mix with a heartbreaking past. He came to us after surviving abuse at the hands of someone he was supposed to be able to trust. In the safety of our care, Rocko has shown nothing but courage, sweetness, and a deep desire to connect. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a shining example of resilience, reminding us how incredible dogs truly are. This 44-pound lovebug lights up when heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s out in the yard with volunteers, chasing toys and soaking up attention. He knows some basic commands and is eager to please, especially when there’s a treat or some praise involved! Rocko previously lived with another dog and may do well with a compatible canine companion after a proper introduction. What he needs now is a home where he can finally be safe, cherished, and pampered the way he deserves.Meet Rocko by scheduling an appointment at yoloshelter.org or visit during walk-in hours on Friday or Saturday from 11-3. All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control.
