Critter Details

Meet Rory, the terrier mixed breed. Rory came to the Shelter with some siblings (Raye and Rome). They had been in a home environment with children, other dogs and farm animals. Upon arrival to the Shelter, Rory was initially really unsure of the new people and the environment. He has slowly started to come out of his shell. Rory would thrive in a savvy adoptive home that will be patient with him as he transitions. When he is feeling comfortable, he is a typical adolescent â&#194&#128&#194&#147 running around, playing with toys and getting his ya-yaâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s out. Rory may do well in a home with another dog after a meet â&#194&#128&#194&#152n greet here at the Shelter. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering â&#194&#128&#194&#156Pawsitivity Bucksâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end â&#194&#128&#194&#156meet and greetsâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
