Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Roscoe finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) . Roscoe #6 | 2 year old Pit Bull Mix | Big goofy head, even bigger heart Roscoe is a 2-year-old Pit Bull mix weighing around 60 pounds with a handsome golden brown coat and an even more handsome personality. This sweet, goofy boy absolutely loves people and has never met a stranger he didn’t want to say hello to. Whether he’s leaning into you for pets, resting his head in your lap, offering his paw for attention, or rolling over for belly rubs, Roscoe is all about love and companionship. Roscoe is fully house trained, crate trained, and does wonderfully when left home alone. Like with any dog adjusting to a new environment, adopters should expect there may be a few accidents while he settles in and learns a new routine. These days, his foster can comfortably leave him loose in the house without any issues — he usually just naps on the couch waiting for his people to come home. He also rides great in the car and enjoys walks, hikes, fetch, chew toys, and pretty much any activity that lets him spend time with his humans. Roscoe recently graduated from a board-and-train program and comes with lifetime training support to help set him and his future family up for continued success. He already knows sit, stay, come, down, off, “drop it,” and “Roscoe Bed.” He is food- and toy-motivated, eager to please, and responds beautifully to structure and positive reinforcement. While Roscoe has many wonderful qualities, he is still working on a few behaviors that will require continued management and training. He can become overly excited at times, leading to jumping, rough play, and occasionally taking treats too enthusiastically with his strong jaws. He can also be possessive of toys around other dogs. Because of this, Roscoe’s ideal home will be with an experienced adopter who is comfortable handling a strong dog and committed to continuing his training and structure. Roscoe would do best in a home without children, cats, or other dogs at this time. Ideally, he would love a fenced yard and an adopter who can give him both physical activity and plenty of affection. In return, he’ll provide endless loyalty, laughs, cuddles, and companionship to the lucky person who gives him a chance. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
