Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs – but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   not in VPDate into Rescue:   08/26/24 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release/Roxy was not well liked by another dog in the home Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Roxy is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Roxy's family told us that she is hearing impaired; we have not detected this, and Roxy has passed several basic hearing tests. Please note that we have not had her hearing testing by a veterinarian; neither had her previous family. Please note that Roxy is a miniature aussie-doodle. We will never guarantee that a doodle will be hypoallergenic or that it won't shed. Weight: 14 lbs Height: 12 in at the shoulder est Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No, but a fence is a great safety feature for any dog. What kind of home would be best for me? Roxy is the happiest girl you'll ever meet. While Roxy loves all people, she dreams of having her own human to love, or better yet, she would be adopted by a family so she could share her abundant love with all of them. Roxy is energetic and would need a home with a yard to run around in, or trips to the dog park where you are guaranteed she will make friends with everyone there. She doesn't care if you live in an apartment or house, whether you are single, a couple or a family. Roxy simply wants a forever home where she can be a part of the family and bring light and love to all. Roxy needs her adopters to be home more than they are away, and she would thrive in a family with another dog or with kids. All our dogs here are special and have so much to give. But every now and then one of them stands out as special and is loved by all. That is Roxy. She is so happy to greet you and will jump up for pets and loving. When you sit down be aware she may be so overjoyed to see you that she will jump into your lap and shower you with kisses. We haven't seen her play with toys, humans interest her the most. What is my personality like? Roxy is the life of the party! She is always smiling and eager to share love and affection with everyone she meets. She radiates joy wherever she goes. She gets along well with other dogs, but if you have cats, they need to be comfortable with a high-energy dog for the arrangement to work. This beautiful white Aussie Doodle is full of life, love, and energy. She has never met anyone who hasn't left with a smile on their face. She was surrendered to CPR because the family stated she bit their other dog. Roxy has encountered many different dogs while here in rescue (large and small) and has joyfully interacted with each and every one of them. We just don't know what happened. There was a larger dog in the home also and Roxy played well with him.  When Roxy was surrendered to us, we were told she was partially deaf. We haven't detected that, and she passed several simple hearing tests, and she's responds to her name when called. Her adopter will need to teach her basic commands such as sit, down, stay, come, etc. Improving leash skills will also be on your to-do list. Roxy is such a smart girl and so willing to please, so we expect her to learn quickly.  As you can tell this writer is in love with Roxy. But, then again, most everyone who meets this beautiful girl falls in love with her. One thing to note is Roxy has slight separation anxiety. She may cry and bark when left alone, but she calms down after a few minutes. She holds no grudges though, for when you come home, she greets you as always, with joy, smiles, and lots and lots of kisses. Truly there are not enough words in the English language to describe how wonderful Roxy is. She's simply awesome!  How do I act when I first meet new people? Hi there, human! I love you already! Please love me back! These three sentences capture Roxy perfectly. She's an amazing dog with a big heart. Other tips and tidbits: Roxy was born on 3/4/2022. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note – we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you – poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.
